Beware of TOUTS and BLAGGERS operating in private cars, known as gypsy or touts pretending to be a minicab driver. They illegally solicit from the kerbside, operating without insurance and often in vehicles that are un-roadworthy.

PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT THEIR SERVICES

The London Metropolitan Police have stated in their recent report that gypsy cab / minicab touts commit 25% of all rapes and serious sexual assaults.

Please remember, if you request a Taxi or a Minicab from your hotel, always insist on and specify a LICENSED TAXI or LICENSED MINICAB and REMEMBER always ask drivers to produce their License. Some dishonest hotel staff will attempt to persuade you to use a "CAR SERVICE" that they recommend. This is because staffs receive bribes from the drivers of unlicensed and uninsured vehicles. It is you, the customer who ultimatley pays, usually considerably more than in a LICENSED LONDON TAXI or LICENSED MINICAB.
